Most tourists head for the major city of Detroit, and while it is a great place to visit, Michigan has much worth seeing. The state has some superb landscapes, no where more so than along the coastline, with great beaches, sand dunes and cliffs blending together to offer amazing views. |

Detroit - Detroit is famed for its car industry and for producing the Motown sound. The city was in decline for a large part of the last half of the 20th Century but is now experiencing a revival. Detroit has always been a city of great culture with excellent art galleries and museums.
Traverse City - This beautiful coastal resort is one of the best places to relax in Michigan. Great beaches, excellent water sports and many superb golf courses are Traverse City's major draws.
Upper Peninsula - Separated from the rest of Michigan by the Mackinac Straits, the Upper Peninsula is an incredibly beautiful area. With magnificent landscape throughout it is difficult to pick highlights, but perhaps the most stunning parts are the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the Isle Royal National park.
