| Located 10km (6 miles) from central Louisville at the junction of I-65 and I-264, the airport can be reached by the Preston Highway leading to Phillips Lane, then continuing west before turning on the Freedom Way ramp and following the signs to the airport. If coming from Nashville take the I-65 North, leading to I-264 West, and exit 131. From St Louis take the I-64 East to I-264 East (exit 1) to exit 11, and from Cincinnati take the I-71 South leading to exit 131. From Lexington take the I-64 West, which leads to I-264 West, exit 11. |
| Louisville International Airport Facilities |
The facilities at the airport include a bank on the upper level of the Landside Terminal and ATMs in the terminal building. There are also telephones and a self-service post office. Internet service mobile phones, speakerphones, Internet enabled laptops and dial-up connections for customers with their own laptops are available in the business centre located on the upper level of Departures. Available for hire is a conference room accommodating 14 people (tel: 502 657 0098).
For refreshment there a number of restaurants and cafes located at the airport, and for shopping there are various outlets selling gifts, toys, books, and sports equipment. The airport also provides a left luggage service.
Facilities for disabled passengers include specially-designed ramps and kerbs, lifts with Braille control buttons, and TDD telephones. Chauffeured electric carts and an escalator transport passengers to and from the gates. Guide dogs are allowed in the terminal buildings and the aircraft. Parking is available in the covered car park at reduced rates. |
