Useful Tips |
| Safety - by Chris from Newcastle |
| The rules here a pretty standard, no kids under 12 in the front, seatbelts to be worn at all times, no drinking and driving, speed limit is 50kmp and 90kmp unless otherwise stated...The thing that got me was that they drive on the right hand side of the road and that was a bit stressfull for the first few days. |
| Traffic - by Estelle from Whitstable |
| I definitely recomend using a hired car. We tried to use public transport for the first few days but we ended up getting totally confused by the bus routes and times especially as none of us could read Hebrew or dicipher the bus numbers

Israel Overview |
Israel is one of the world's most religiously significant countries, and of great importance to Christians, Jews and Muslims. This middle-eastern country offers more than just great religious sites, with modern vibrant cities and fantastic countryside.
Israel's main draw is the important city of Jerusalem, but it is well worth exploring beyond this. Tel-Aviv is a fantastic modern city, and with natural attractions such as the Dead Sea.

Israel Essentials |
Jerusalem - The capital of Israel is a city of massive significance for the Christian, Jewish and Islamic religions. In the old part of the city there are countless important historical sites. However, in the newer area of the city there are many cafes, restaurants and shops so Jerusalem has something for everyone.
Tel-Aviv - Unlike some of Israel's other cities, Tel Aviv is not steeped in historical and religious importance. However, don't let this put you off this modern, cosmopolitan and fun city. Everything you would expect from a modern city is here and there are several excellent beaches close by.
The Galilee - This area of Israel has excellent religious sites and is a great place to visit. There are many important cultural places in The Galilee including the town of Nazareth.
Dead Sea - If you visit Israel you must take the time to experience the Dead Sea. Once you have floated on the mineral rich water, you can visit the areas of fantastic beauty which surround the Sea. |

Israel Calendar - Pick of the Year's Events |
