| Zakynthos Overview |
| Destroyed by an earthquake in 1953, the town of Zakynhos was rebuilt in the style of the original Venetian architecture in some areas. One of the most notable and important issues of Zakynthos is that it is home to the endangered loggerhead turtles, and as such the beaches must be treated with great respect, as careless footsteps can destroy hundreds of eggs. |
