Rodez is situated in south west France and is one of the most prominent places in the Aveyron Region. Once underdeveloped, Rodez has prospered since the 1960’s and is now a popular tourist destination and a delightful place to visit. Rodez is culturally rich, with centre a charming town centre, and it is a great place to spend some time.
The area is full of small towns of great beauty and offers some excellent attractions.
One of the main draws here is the incredible Cathedrale Notre-Dame, which must be one of the world greatest religious structures and must not be missed. Rodez also has several excellent museums and art galleries. |

Cathedral of Notre Dame – The incredible gothic masterpiece that is the Cathedral of Notre Dam is the most famous attraction in Rodez. Made out of pink sandstone, the magnificent structure stands at over 30 metres high and is more than 100 metres long.
Musée Fenaille – This excellent museum covers the history of the region over the last 10,000 years, with artefacts dating back to well before Roman times.
Rouerge Museum – This excellent archaeology and history museum is set in a magnificent building. The museum is very interesting with many superb exhibitions covering the history of the country.
Denys Puech Museum – The Denys Puech museum reveals the talents of this local celebrity who became the director of the Villa Medicis. The museum welcomes many fascinating temporary exhibitions of contemporary art |
