| A small municipality, northwest of Copenhagen, with a population of about 27,000 making it the third smallest in Denmark. Despite this it is ranked in the top 50 most popular destinations. The town is relatively young, dating back only about a hundred years, and started as a gathering point and a place when Copenhageners went to when they were out in the country side. |

Country Hospital - The towns landmark is this 25 year old building, it's the biggest employer in Herlev and also happens to be the tallest skyscraper in all of Denmark.
Nationalmuseet - The Nation Museum in Copenhagen holds the biggest collection of ancient Danish artifacts in the entire world, as well as the remains of Bronze-Age humans in oak coffins.
Brakken - A mere 7 kilometers from Herlev is Brakken in Klampenborg. Brakken is the world's oldest amusement park. The collection of bumper cars will keep the children busy while the adults enjoy the slot machines and beer halls
Tivoli - Other century-old amusement park, but with a much more up market feel and atmosphere to it. On Wednesday and Saturday evenings fireworks can be seen lighting up the sky.
Tojhusmuseet - This old war museum features a collection of weapons from the royal arsenal built in 1600. A huge hall filled with historic cannons, and rooms filled with hand weapons and armor can also be viewed. |
