| Traffic was heavy (terrible in morning rush hours 07h30 to 09h00) and a little difficult for me as I am not used to drive in a big city like Brussels. There are two 'rings' that surround Brussels, a smaller inner ring and the bigger outer ring. So then it is better to park by the outer ring and go with public transport, but if you want there is also a free parking behind Palace of Justice near the centre, but not close to Grand Place! |

| Avoid the little ring road called "Petite Ceinture" during peak hours. It's quite hectic. There are only two lines so you can get stuck for hours. Try to get to little streets instead. |

Cathédrale des Sts Michel & Gudule - The Cathédrale des Sts Michel & Gudule is named after Belgium’s two Patron saints. This truly magnificent site has been improved by its recent renovation and is situated on the hillside to the north of Gare Centrale.
Grand Place - This fabulous square is situated at the centre of the lower town and boasts many splendid cafes, resteraunts and shops. The Grand Place’s gothic architecture makes it a truly unique and very special setting.
Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts - Split into two large buildings, one housing ancient art and the other modern pieces. The Royal Museum of Fine Art is without doubt Belgium’s premier art collection and includes work from artists such as Rubens and Monet.
Manneken Pis - This small 17th century statue of a young boy urinating into a pool below is world renowned and has become Belgium’s national symbol.
Chez Leon - Just one of the many fantastic restaurants on Butchers Street, the chez leon (No. 10) is famed for its bustling atmosphere and plentiful helpings. |

Brussels International Film Week (April-May) - You can always be sure to be offered a diverse choice of films by the Brussels international Film Festival. With a selection of films ranging from premieres to shorts is a celebration of the best of European film making.
Ommegang (starts first Tuesday of every July) - Ommegang or ‘walk about’ is a huge parade set in the Grand Place. Guests including the Royal Family join the masses of spectators to enjoy a celebration of Belgium tradition. |
