Relics of this area can still be seen around Launceston, the largest city in this north-east region of Tasmania.The area around Launceston is known for its fertile land and quality timber, with crops like poppies and hops and adequate grazing land in plentiful supply. Launceston is situated on the Tamar river and is known for its beautiful parks and gardens. |
